Jasper Joffe & Harry Pye
London

On the final day, Sunday 28 August, Joffe et Pye will open from Noon-9pm
Joffe et Pye features new paintings inspired by French painters, friendship and family. The show takes place in Jaspers shoreditch home in the spirit of a salon gathering. Jasper Joffe and Harry Pye are both London mavens. They worked together on the Free Art Fair, the Rebel Magazine and Jasper and Harry’s Tate Modern. (Joffe et Pye)

The most welcoming of starts and a room full of art: From floor to ceiling and corners, under and inside things there are paintings and cardboard structures, rockets and dog houses, all the cuddly toys look relaxed and at home.

Happy art: And it is, full of friends and family, a lot of joy and cheeky smiling wide eyes. A few of the paintings are snapshots taken from a distance, a daughter playing and I think about growing up and growing apart but the next painting is a huge colourful close up and everything is all right again. Each painting, tiny or huge, is a lovely big hello.

“Why can’t we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn’t work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos.” – Snoopy
