getting ready

Right now I can only think in lists – to do lists. I used to really like making lists, not so much anymore though.

Getting ready for this M.A show seems endless, advertising/promotion, catalog, to have or not to have post cards. Then space allocation and how the work of 8 very different artists can live and breath together. I would be very interested to hear anyones thoughts on how to bring together a collection of painters, film makers, printmakers and an instillation artist, within a small group show. Wilkinson Gallery currently have an exhibition dealing with just that issue, next week I will go down to London and check it out, although the exhibition title UNRELATED left me feeling a bit flat and not just because as a group we are sweating over the right name for our show.

studio mess

A short post, but a post all the same. I am trying to get as much use out of the studio before the M.A ends and it is all taken away from me. I have included a work in progress (detail).

1st post

So let me just introduce myself and this blog. Right now I am in the final push of an M.A Fine Art, after two years part time on the course I have become very comfortable within the art school institution but that’s all about to end as I push myself out into the art world. A good time to start a blog?  Well perhaps. I am only one of thousands in this position so I figured I’d share it via another 1st for me. A blog.
